Dear Polos,
I can’t thank you enough for being the most wonderful tour guide and companion we have ever experienced! We have traveled throughout the world and you showed us more of Bali in just a few days than I could have imagined. I for one am looking forward to both coming back (possibly sooner than you might think) and definitely referring groups an individuals your way. If there is any way possible I also plan to lobby my government to remove the current travel warning – from my experience and perspective there is absolutely no need for such at this point in time. Additionally, please pass along my thanks to the wonderful staff at Bali Spirit. Truly one of the best boutique properties I have ever experienced and you can be assured I’ll be back. Again thank you for your recommended. Joseph and Richard join me in passing along their most sincere thanks and we all look forward to seeing you again very soon.

We meet Polos in 1998 and we found him to be very honest, fun and reliable and he speaks excellent English. He took us to the temples and many of the local people and also finding places that not so many tourists went, he explained to us many of the questions we had about different things we saw. I highly recommend Polos for your adventure in Bali

From Maya, David and Kyle

I Nengah Polos is the best driver we had while we were in Bali and we definitely had some dodgy characters to compare him to. We will use him every time we go back. His prices were spot-on, he was very helpful and took us to the best places for sight-seeing, eating and shopping. He was very patient with me (I’m a power-shopper) and put up with all my stopping and buying!  He was also great with our 11 year-old son, who still speaks of him constantly! Overall, he was an angel and very generous with his time. We really feel like we made a friend in Bali …thank you, Nengah Polos!

From Kalaimagan (Morgan)

Good afternoon Bapak Polos,
This is Kalaimagan from Malaysia. If you still remember me I was there with my family from 6-10 th. June, 2011 and we stayed in OASIS Kuta.
Bapak Polos, I write today to let you know how much we appreciated your services during the tours you took us to. It was truly memorable and we will surely look for you again the next time we return to Bali.
I have spoken so much about you and your expertise to my friends so that they engage you when they go to Bali next. As a matter of fact a friend just took your contact number as her brother will be going to Bali tomorrow. I know it is very short notice and you may already have been booked but see if you can help them.
Anyway, my family and I had a very good time in Bali, thanks to you and like I said earlier, we will surely look for you again when we come next. On the same note, if you are ever coming to Malaysia, especially Kuala Lumpur, please do not hesitate to call me up. I will be more than happy to show you around, no guide fee as you are a friend… hahaha!
Our regards to your family.
Kalaimagan (Morgan).

From Chai

Hi,
I got back to Malaysia from Bali a few days ago, and I’m happy with your driver Mr Nyoman Mudastra.
He is a very careful driver, and my wife is very prone to car sick, especially on mountain roads, but we didn’t have to worry under his care. He drives very carefully. During our trip from Ubud to Uluwatu, we were caught in a terrible Kuta area jam, and he started driving more aggressively just to ensure that we get to see the sunset at Uluwatu. Thankfully, we managed to reach there just in time, and if we arrived 5 minutes late, we would have missed the sunset. He speaks good English.
I will definitely recommend my friends to look for you guys as their driver if they visit Bali! Chai.

In busy Bali, having a guide like Mr Nyoman was very assuring. He made sure we reached our destinations on time safely.
Once again, I would like to extend my warmest appreciation to Mr Nyoman and also to the wonderful team for making our holiday a memorable one. I have attached a few pictures which we took with Mr Nyoman at Uluwatu for his viewing.
Thanks Pak!

Batubulan Stone Carving Village
Batubulan Stone Carving Village

Batubulan Stone Carving Village has been known as a center for the art of sculpture and carving in Bali, whose name has been worldwide. This carving art by the artist of Batubulan village, Gianyar is so highly admired and in demand by foreign and domestic tourists. The history of Batubulan Stone Carving Village apparently started from a story of a Great Prince Kalesan. He was the adopted son of the King of Badung who in his adulthood was given a gift by the king to build a palace for him in the middle of the forest. Well get the mandate, then he went with his followers to a forest area in the eastern part of the Badung Kingdom. But a strange thing happened when he and his followers arrived at the border of the forest, they saw a lump of glowing stone (batu) that looked like the moon (bulan). Well from that incident, finally the Great Prince Kalesan established a palace at the location of the place and named the area as Batubulan.

The Barong Dance is a type of traditional Balinese dance that is played by one to two people wearing costumes and masks of four legged animals. Then along with its development, Barong Dance is also manifested with two-legged animals. Barong dance is said to be an art that is part of the repertoire of pre-Hindu culture in Bali besides the Sanghyang dance. Both are religious and sacred in nature which were originally performed as a means of religious ceremonies. This dance depicts the battle between dharma (Virtue) and adharma (Ugliness). In this battle, the Barong dancers manifested virtue, meanwhile, the figure of Rangda, who looks creepy with two pointed fangs in his mouth, plays virtue. The famous one is Sahadewa Barong Stage located at Jalan SMKI, Pegambangan, Batubulan, the show starting from 9.00AM – 10.00AM.

The Kecak Dance is typically performed by about forty to eighty men wearing only loincloths; their upper bodies are left bare. They form concentric circles, in the middle of which is a traditional Balinese coconut oil lamp. First they move their bodies rhythmically to the left and to the right, chanting the words “chak ke-chak ke-chak ke-chak” continuously, in slow rhythm. Gradually the rhythm speeds up and by turns they lift their hands, trembling, into the air. The kecak dance is performed for dance-dramas and the story presented is taken from the Ramayana Hindu epic. The Kecak Dance perform everyday at Sahadewa Barong only from 6.30PM – 7.30PM.

Best Beach in Bali

Which best beach in Bali? Already know that Bali is the most popular destination in Indonesia.

Millions of people visit this island just for the sake of sunbathing, surfing, shopping or just relaxing all day long. What is clear, Bali is an island that is so popular for holidays.

The beaches that are scattered on the coast of the island are always an attraction when the holiday season arrives. I don’t know how many people have a vacation to Bali just because they want to visit one of their favorite beaches.

What is clear is that you don’t need to be confused anymore if you vacation here. If you only have a little time, maybe you can read tips on Hunting Beaches in South Bali in One Day.

Kuta Beach

This beach is a familiar name, it can even be called the name of the beach of a million people. Because Kuta Beach has indirectly become an icon of Bali tourism. Yes, this beach is always packed with tourists, both domestic and foreign, all the time. Day or night you can visit this beach in Kuta. Kuta Beach Bali is the most popular beach in Bali. Maybe even most people who have a vacation to Bali will definitely stop by this beach. Are you one of them?

Of course, apart from just visiting, this coastline that extends from Kuta Beach is one of the most enjoyable jogging routes. So for those of you who like jogging, maybe you should try the jogging route below.

Sanur Beach

Sanur Beach, which is about 6 km from Denpasar, is on the east side of Bali, and from Kuta it is also not too far away. Therefore, it is not surprising that Sanur Beach is the most pleasant place for tourists to enjoy the view of the sunrise or sunrise in South Bali. The location of Sanur Beach is strategically accessible from anywhere in South Bali.

The beach stretches from south Mertasari Beach till to the north Matahari Beach. There are many accommodation available from guest house till 5 star hotel along of Danau Tamblingan Street. Now Beach very crowded specially in the morning and late afternoon to across people by boat to Nusa Penida and Lembongan Island. It’s good beach for kite surfing and wind surfing. During weak end day Saturday and Sunday afternoon the beach busy with local people to have swim, canoeing and relax. Along the beach can do jogging track and push bike ride. This beach also good place to watch the sunrise. North side of Sanur is Padang Galak Beach with black sand beach has Kite Festival during windy season around April and May. Sanur also has night market for dinner near Sindhu area.

Nusa Dua Beach

Nusa Dua Beach has high-end beach resort destination in Bali. Nusa it’s mean Island and Dua is Two. Being such an inclusive place control by ITDC (Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation), the beaches here are extremely clean with wide white sand and blue water. Most of the beaches in Nusa Dua are private because they belong to the hotel, but there are also some Nusa Dua public beaches for swimming. Another nice to see in Nusa Dua is Water Blow. The water blow is the outcome of the narrowing crag below the cliff face that channels a surge of water up to 30 meters high from its base following strong currents. This phenomenon results in giant, irregular splashes of wave that can reach several meters high.

Most of the beaches in Nusa Dua are private beaches that belong to the hotels located there. However, there are some that are public beaches that can be visited. Sometimes, before the sunset from the beach in Nusa Dua, it is no less beautiful than the others.

Seminyak Beach

Compared to other beaches, Seminyak Beach should be an idol for dusk or sunset hunters. In addition, access to Seminyak Beach is not too difficult, and can be reached by motorbike or car. Or you can even walk along the coastline from Kuta Beach to Seminyak Beach. You can also stop by at the Double Six Street next door, Petitenget Temple parking area or Kudeta Beach Club area.

Jimbaran Beach

Maybe this beach is not a favorite place for surfers. It is also not a favorite place for water sports like in Tanjung Benoa. However, if you are looking for the best place to have dinner by the beach, Jimbaran Beach is one of the best seafood barbeque. There are not many beaches in Bali that can be a pleasant place for a dinner place like Jimbaran.

Padang-Padang Beach

Many don’t know that in South Bali there are actually two Padang – Padang beaches. The two locations are close together and only separated by a cliff. One of them is so popular because it was used to shoot the movie Eat Pray Love. The beach also busy during sunset time and good place for surfing.

Tanjung Benoa Beach

For those who like to play water, it means they can’t miss this Tanjung Benoa Beach! The reason is this is a beach in southern Bali that is cool to try various kinds of watersports or water sports. No wonder this beach is very popular with tourists. Some water sports that you can try here are jet ski, parasailing, banana boat, sea walker, dive, banana boat, fly fish, fly board, visit turtle island, snorkeling and many others. Pandawa Beach

Pandawa Beach is one of the beaches in South Bali. To reach this beach you have to split the enormous limestone cliffs first. Well, fortunately the road that divides the cliff to get to Pandawa Beach is now good, even on the asphalt.

In the past, Pandawa Beach was a dream place for foreigners in Bali who like to sunbathe topless. Unfortunately, because it is getting more and more crowded, it is rare or even topless foreigners sunbathing on Pandawa Beach. There are famous beaches in Bali that are increasingly visited by local tourists.

Dreamland Beach

You already know, right? If Dreamland Beach is a beach that is a famous tourist destination, it is located in the south of Bali in an area called Pecatu. This famous beach in Bali is surrounded by towering cliffs, and is surrounded by large rocks around the beach. In addition, this beach location is in the Bali Pecatu Graha complex (Kuta Golf Link Resort) which is about 30 minutes from Kuta Beach.

Suluban Beach

This beach is known to have two names even though in fact with different names it is still in one location. Known as Suluban Beach or Blue Point Beach, as people call it. Suluban Beach is known as one of the beaches with the best waves on the island of Bali, especially in South Bali.

Yes, indeed the Uluwatu area and its surroundings such as Suluban Beach have many places to surf with Bali’s best waves. Do not believe? Just try here! Playing to Suluban Beach! One of the cool beaches in Bali is not playing!
